Job Description – Internal Auditor
Base Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Travel: Extensive travel across Tanzania, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Gabon, and Botswana, as required.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to strengthen governance, internal controls, and compliance across our operations in Africa. The role requires frequent travel to operating locations to conduct audits, identify risks, recommend improvements, and ensure adherence to company policies and statutory requirements. The successful candidate should be capable of working independently and delivering meaningful, actionable audit outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and conduct operational, financial, and compliance audits across multiple countries.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, processes, and risk management practices.
Identify control gaps, operational inefficiencies, and compliance issues, and recommend practical corrective actions.
Verify the accuracy of financial records, inventory, cash management, and asset controls.
Prepare clear audit reports with findings, recommendations, and follow-up action plans.
Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and report progress to management.
Support investigations into fraud, policy violations, or financial irregularities, where required.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies across all operating locations.
Liaise with management teams to strengthen governance and improve business processes.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
Minimum 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk assurance.
Experience across multiple African countries, particularly Tanzania, will be preferred.
Experience in the Oil & Gas/LPG sector will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently with extensive travel.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Knowledge of Swahili and French will be a distinct advantage.
